Men's Certina Urban DS-1 Big Date watch C029.426.11.051.00 Swiss Made class, premium materials and modern solutions combined with discreet retro style. Both the envelope and the segmented bracelet are made of silver 316L stainless steel. The case is contrasted with a black convex dial, which is decorated with a sunburst cut. On the surface of the numeral dial is the Big Date date of the month. Precise timekeeping is ensured by the Powermatic 80.651 automatic movement, which has a power reserve of up to 80 hours. It is equipped with the DS double security system and the Nivachron™ anti-magnetic spring. 100 meters of water resistance protects the case interior during surface swimming. The product C0294261105100 comes with a 2-year warranty.
Functions
Steel
The 316L stainless steel, which Certina uses for cases, bracelets and clasps for instance, is extremely resistant, corrosion-resistant and hygienic. It contains only a very small proportion of nickel, which is not emitted when worn and therefore does not trigger any nickel allergies.
Sapphire
Sapphire watch crystal is made of aluminium oxide powder (Al2O3) heated to over 2000°C. The resultant sapphire nugget is cut with great precision into fine slices, trimmed and polished. Sapphire is extremely scratch-resistant, shock-resistant and is very transparent. This is why sapphire crystal is an essential element in the DS Concept.
Nivachron™
An innovative new titanium-based alloy that is used for balance springs. This revolutionary material was developed in collaboration with the Swatch Group and is used in selected brands. Nivachron™ springs are highly resistant to magnetic fields, shock, ageing and temperature fluctuations, lending them extremely high mechanical precision and making them remarkably reliable in everyday use.

The secret behind this "Double Security" (DS) lies in a robust design which, with its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, sophisticated sealing system that includes the stem and crown, and reinforced watch back, covers every aspect of the watch case. Anti-reflective coating
It is possible to enhance the quality of a sapphire crystal to an even greater extent by providing it with an anti-reflective coating on one or both sides. The Certina brand is becoming increasingly focussed on equipping its timepieces with an extremely high-quality anti-reflective coating on both sides, whereby several layers of this coating on both sides of the crystal ensure that it is possible to see through the timepieces in an optimum manner.
80 h power reserve
The power reserve provides you with information about how long a mechanical timepiece can run for without being wound. Most timepieces have a power reserve of around 38 to 42 hours. Certina's innovative Powermatic 80 automatic calibre offers a power reserve of up to 80 hours – almost double as long as comparable models.

2/22/22A very discreet watch that does not dominate the background of classic clothes. Shock protection, very solid appearance, well, and a very strong mechanism. I have known the brand for many years, but this is my first watch from it. I heartily recommend it.
