The Swiss school of watchmaking has taught people one thing: that only reliable watches become legendary. German brands decided to follow this path, taking advantage of the achievements of their neighbors, and produced their timepieces based precisely on this philosophy. As a result, German watch models such as Junkers and Zeppelin are considered to be among the best on the German market. They use mechanisms imported from Switzerland, which ensures even higher reliability, while the distinctive Germanic flair ensures the unique look of these timepieces.
The aforementioned Zeppelin and Junkers brands are among the most interesting, as they both refer to the origins of aviation. Zeppelin was inspired by the life's work of Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin, a turn-of-the-century living German designer and entrepreneur who first took the giant and now iconic airships to the skies. Zeppelin watches are inspired by these vehicles - the dials resemble the yellowed dials of deck clocks, while the hands and indexes are stylized after those of the early 20th century. Also, the names of the series, such as Graf, Hindenburg and Graf Zeppelin, allude to the history of aeronautics. Meanwhile, the Junkers brand is a reference to one of the first airplanes, and the first built entirely of metal - the Junkers J1 model. Junkers watches are designed to create an equally classic timepiece, characterized by inspiration from the aviation industry of the early 20th century.
Another equally interesting brand, although unrelated to aviation, is Kerbholtz, a manufacturer of timepieces built largely from wood. This makes the watches an eco-friendly alternative to plastic, leather and steel. Interesting, ecological design is a treat not only for nature lovers, but those who appreciate originality and unconventional solutions in the creation of timepieces.
Definitely! It's not from today that one hears about German efficiency and accuracy, and German men's watches are excellent proof of this. When you choose a German watch, you get the assurance of the reliability of your timepiece and also its unique style.
