Italian watch manufacturer with an offbeat design, the Venezianico brand has scheduled the launch of the new Nereide Agata model for next week, on March 27th. The watch is distinguished by a dial made of agate, a semi-precious stone formed inside volcanic rocks. The uniqueness of the model is underlined by the launch of a limited edition of 300 numbered pieces.
Agate is a semi-precious stone of exceptional beauty that is formed in the cavities of volcanic rocks through a process of layering of silica and minerals. This phenomenon occurs during volcanic eruptions, when magma creates voids and fissures in the earth's crust. Over millennia, silica-saturated water seeps into the cavities, creating unique layers of colour and texture. Agate, in this way, becomes a unique semi-precious stone that looks extraordinary on the dial of the Venezianico watch.
The agate creation process is of a unique nature, giving each stone a unique colour palette and pattern, giving each piece of the watch an individual personality. Stripped of all impurities, the stone is carefully selected and then precisely cut and polished to create a uniform disc shape for the watch face. The indices are then applied to it. This complex and detailed process requires a great deal of concentration and manual dexterity.
The Venezianico watch's envelope is made of 316L stainless steel, with an engraving-decorated lid on the back. It depicts a volcano in the process of eruption, which coherently ties in with the design concept of the watch. The agate dial with its unique striations and hues visually alludes to the phenomena associated with the action of lava on rocks and the formation of volcanoes. The dial also features the limitation number of the specific model. The water resistance of 20 ATM allows you to swim freely with the watch and even dive without an oxygen cylinder.
The beautiful dial in shades of orange is complemented by legible linear indexes and hands, both of which are coated with Super-LumiNova BGW9. A day-of-the-month date counter is located at 3 o'clock. The dial is protected from damage by sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating. The envelope is connected to an orange rubber strap made in Italy. An additional stainless steel bracelet can be purchased for the model. A 120-click rotating bezel with a tungsten insert - the hardest material in the world, which is difficult to scratch - is set on the envelope. At the heart of the Venezianico Nereide Agata watch is the Swiss automatic movement Cal. Sellita SW200-1.
