Lacoste is a brand founded by French tennis player René Lacoste in 1933. The athlete was distinguished by his style, which was unusual for the time. It was he who first appeared on the court in a self-designed white polo shirt with short sleeves, although the current fashion dictated something completely different. People liked the athlete's fashion ideas very much - and hence the idea came to him to create his own clothing company together with the country's largest knitwear manufacturer Andre Gillier.
