The Vostok Europe Atomic Age Sakharov Line Chrono Limited Editon VK64-640C699 is a men's watch limited to 3,000 pieces, set in motion by a Japanese Seiko Epson VK64 hybrid movement. The collection is dedicated to Nobel laureate Andrei Sakharov, who was a Soviet nuclear physicist, dissident, Nobel laureate and activist for disarmament, peace and human rights. A key designer of Soviet thermonuclear weapons, Sakharov later became an advocate of civil liberties and civil reform in the Soviet Union, for which he faced state persecution. These efforts earned him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1975. The watch has an original polygonal envelope consisting of 2 parts "pressed" one into the other. It is made of stainless steel. The black dial is complemented by a day-of-the-month date, chronograph, tachymeter, as well as hands and indexes with GTLS (Gaseous Tritium Light Sources) illumination. The dial is protected from damage by K1 mineral glass. The model has a screw-down caseback and crown, which, combined with a water resistance of 20 ATM, allows diving without an aqualung. An additional silicone strap is included. The whole thing is packaged in a red Drybox XL case.
