Jestem zadowolony The Zeppelin from the Friedrichshafen series is a watch that makes an incredible impression in person, especially if you’re into retro styles and aviation heritage. As a guy, what I appreciate most about it is that it isn’t just another “flat” dial. The guilloché pattern—that fine design on the gold dial—gives it depth and makes the watch look much more expensive than it actually is. The coolest feature, however, is the “open heart.” Being able to see how the automatic movement works while wearing it is a real hit for me—it adds such a raw, mechanical character to it. The silver case and brown strap are an absolute classic that goes well with both a blazer and a plain shirt. You can tell it’s a solid, German design that won’t go out of style in a year or two. It’s cool that it also has a glass back, because I always like to take a peek at all those gears from below. A very solid automatic watch for someone looking for something with soul.

It has the pros and cons of an automatic movement (for example, my watch runs 14 seconds fast per day, which is within the normal range, but you know how it is). It sits well on the wrist, though you can feel its weight, and its thickness can sometimes be a bit of a nuisance. You can wind it the traditional way when you’re not wearing it (Miyota 8205). Overall, a lovely classic that’s worth the price.
