For a long time I have dreamed of a watch that would be a minimum of "open heart", and optimally a "skeleton" type model. The choice fell on the Carl von Zeyten Neustadt Skeleton Automatic. DESIGN De gustibus non est disputandum (tastes are not discussed), but this watch is simply beautiful :-) Particularly noteworthy is the guilloche used on the dial, a pattern that consists of many repeating lines. This can be perfectly seen in the attached photo. The elegance of the dial is provided by the subdued tricolor of navy blue, silver and gold. It is the golden circles above the six o'clock hour that are the main protagonists, as they move rhythmically to measure time and make you stare at them like goldfish in an aquarium :-) Particularly noteworthy are the details, which are perfectly refined and manifest themselves, for example, in the engraving of the brand's initials on the left side of the envelope and on the clasp of the leather strap. This watch is great for everyday wear, and thanks to its original design it will be perfect as a (slightly extravagant) addition to formal attire. ERGONOMY Despite the fact that the thickness of the envelope is above standard (16 mm), the watch "wears" very comfortably. It is quite heavy (the width of the envelope is 46 mm), but this is an advantage when you feel that you have a solid watch on your hand. The sapphire glass is subtly convex, which makes it present the dial of this original timepiece perfectly. A big advantage is the strap, which, in butterfly form, protects against losing the watch (should it accidentally come undone by the mechanism). FUNCTIONALITY 1 The double skeleton is very impressive, because in addition to the glazed lid, almost the entire dial is open and you can see the entire interior of the timepiece (not just the small round window, as in most open heart watches). The ability to view the mechanism from both the obverse and reverse side adds class, prestige and undeniable charm to this watch. 2.The automatic mechanism is driven by the natural movements of the wrist, which gives you the opportunity to interact with watchmaking craftsmanship (as Carl von Zeyten products are assembled and tested by hand) and eliminates the need to replace batteries. 3 The day/night indicator adds a retro character and a "claw" that make this timepiece stand out in the market. 4. fluorescent hands and hour indexes make the watch not only beautiful in its classics, but also functional at night. 5.Two time zones will come in handy for people who travel a lot, so that they do not have to switch the hands to the correct time every time. QUALITY vs PRICE The automatic skeleton in such an original edition is an excellent choice at a very favorable price. The store's service is perfect and the delivery was made expressly. In conclusion, the Carl von Zeyten Neustadt Skeleton Automatic model contributed to the fulfillment of my 'watch' dream :-)
