Orient RA-AA0004E19B popularly known as Mako III is my first automatic watch, and I can admit with a clear conscience that it was an ideal choice. I was guided in my choice by three principles - legibility, versatility and elegance. I found all these three principles in the Orient watch. The Mako III attracts not only by its appearance but also by its quality - it is equipped with a reliable in-house automatic movement from Orient and, which deserves high praise, the possibility of tightening the mechanism with the crown, which is known from high-end watches. The watch has - as befits a diver - a high water resistance of 20 atmospheres, making it possible to dive in it even to 200 meters without fear. An incredible asset of the watch is the sapphire glass used, which is scratch-resistant and provides the effect of a "salon watch" regardless of the time of use. The bracelet is made of stainless steel, so we don't have to worry about it rusting, while the downside of the bracelet is that at the very beginning of use it can be mildly annoying, because it slightly creaks and is sometimes noisy with more violent movements of the hand. The above Orient is also a very functional timepiece, as it is equipped with a rotating bezel, with which we can easily mark and measure the time, for example, from parking the car in a paid parking zone or set a reminder of what time our train departs. Of the other very useful features of the Mako III watch, it should be noted that it has excellent lume, which will allow us to easily read the time in the dark. The watch also has a date display with day of the week and month indication. It is worth mentioning that we can choose the language of the day of the week date tracker from two language versions - English and Latin.

I like diver's watches. I looked for quite a long time and considered many models, but (despite the more expensive competition) the choice fell on the Japanese Orient. The manufacturer states that with its appearance the dial indexes are supposed to resemble a predatory barracuda. There is indeed something in this. Thanks to its appearance, the watch is very versatile. The timepiece can be successfully worn with a suit, as well as during a vacation to any body of water, as the water resistance of 20 atmospheres allows for safe (for the watch) diving even with an aqualung. It is also made very solidly. Japanese manufacturers are famous for this. This is evidenced, for example, by the sapphire glass, the solid bracelet and the bezel that walks with pleasant resistance. In addition, another highlight is the Orient automatic movement used in this model. Japanese engineers developed it in-house, based on years of experience. Thus, they did not take the easy way out and borrowed the mechanism from another manufacturer. It features a 40-hour walk reserve. Finally, it is worth mentioning the rather ambiguous color of the dial. Depending on the time of day and the intensity of the light, once it is in a shade of bottle green, dark navy blue, and sometimes it even falls into black. All in all, I recommend it to anyone who wants to own a decent timepiece from the middle price range, but nothing out of line with the more expensive competition. On my, rather slim (17.3 cm), wrist it looks decent.
