Wenger is first and foremost an extensive portfolio of pocket knives for the Swiss army. The brand creates watches in a similar way to knives - taking care of the best materials and finishing. What can the Wenger brand surprise us with?
Wenger is a company with a long tradition, which has accustomed us to the highest quality of its products. The brand gets its start from the production of pocket knives, and this is what it is best known for. When creating watches, it is guided by the same values - they must be products made of the best materials that will survive any conditions. Get to know the Swiss brand Wenger!
The origins of the Wenger brand date back to 1883, when Paul Boechut, the brand's director, decided to become a contract to supply knives to the Swiss Army. The change of ownership and name to the current Wenger, took place in 1907, when Thedor Wenger, once one of Boechut's managerial employees, took over the company's shares and became its president. From the beginning, Wenger had to focus on top-quality workmanship, as he had a strong competitor, the Victorinox brand, which also got a contract to supply knives to the army. In the production of watches, Wenger was only a year ahead of its competitor. In 1988 watches began a new phase of the Wenger brand. In 2005, the fates of the competing brands became intertwined when Wenger became part of the Victorinox group. However, this did not change the level of its business. Wenger watches are still produced under its own brand, which belongs to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FHS).
The Wenger brand enjoys more than a century of tradition. In the course of its activities, the company has created its own principles for creating watches, so we can enjoy models of the highest quality. The brand's devices have mineral and sapphire glasses, straps made of top-quality leather and bracelets with ceramic elements, and water resistance of up to 10 ATM. These features have been appreciated by, among others, travelers and explorers, such as Mike Horn, who circumnavigated the Arctic Circle, who became a brand ambassador.
Wenger has a whole range of watches that even the most demanding men will appreciate. Models from the Roadster or Seaforce series are for active men who like aesthetically pleasing sports watches. They feature easy-to-read dials that showcase its additional functions, such as a tachymeter, chronograph, day-of-the-month date, rotating bezel, screw-down caseback and luminescent coating on the hands and indexes. The whole is suspended on a comfortable strap or bracelet. A great advantage of the models of this series is the water resistance class, which has been set at a minimum of 100 meters, making it possible to swim or dive with the watch on the wrist.
Wenger also produces more casual watches. These include such series as Avenue, City, or Urban. They delight with their classic form and quality workmanship. The easy-to-read dials are suspended on leather or silicone straps, or durable bracelets. Many of them have features such as a day-of-the-month date, chronograph, or screw-down caseback, which make using the watch even more enjoyable.
