For me, the biggest advantage is the built-in compass and temperature sensor—on the trail or during a trip out of town, these analog readings are irreplaceable and work very precisely. The stainless steel case combined with a water-resistant leather strap gives the impression that this device can withstand almost anything, and the 100-meter water resistance allows you to go into the water without worrying about the mechanism. And then there’s the Indiglo backlight—just one press of the crown is enough to make the entire dial perfectly legible in total darkness. It’s a true, rugged piece of gear that not only looks great but, above all, offers practical functions useful in the field.
