The only downside is that the strap is incredibly stiff—it actually rubbed the skin off my wrist (I can easily slide a finger between the strap and my wrist from the top and bottom, but the sides squeeze like a vise).

A great, durable watch—exactly what I needed. I love these kinds of models, known as tactical watches. And it’s true, I’m sure the Luminox will hold up well on early spring camping trips, and even winter ones, if I manage to go on one this season. The backlight is excellent, giving off an incredible glow in total darkness. The bezel is very comfortable, providing an easy grip and smooth operation. The military color scheme is also a plus. I’ve read a lot about tactical watches. After the Traser, it was time to try out the Luminox. After all the positive reviews and claims I read on the manufacturer’s website, I decided to give it a try. First impression? Damn, this is a solid piece of gear—it feels sturdy and sits well in the hand. You can tell it was made with care. Its weight, yet lightness, made me feel that the materials used are well-thought-out and modern. An additional visual highlight is the gold on the dial. I was a little worried that the gold would look tacky, but in person it looks really cool. Among its strengths, I’ll mention the crown, because it’s handy and comfortable. I wonder how it works with gloves on? But I have a feeling it’ll be fine. The backlight is very good; I tested it at night in the woods. I could easily read the time, and it’s also nice that the dial has large hour markers, which in turn helped me while cycling. The additional 24-hour time markers are also a nice touch.
