What is so special about Hardlex crystal?
Hardened mineral crystal is resistant to scratches and shattering. It has 7 points in Mohs' scale of mineral hardness, which means it differs from sapphire by only 2 points (read more about sapphire crystal here). Hardened coating makes it more scratch-proof, while keeping its elasticity. It’s not easy to break, that is why producers often use Hardlex glass in sports watches.
What are the differences between Hardlex and sapphire crystal?
Sapphire is harder than any other type of crystal, which makes it remarkably scratch-proof. It also stays lucid for many years. However, this hardness is also a drawback when it comes to breaking and shattering. Definitely it is easier to break a sapphire crystal than a mineral one. Hardlex glass has similar clearness, but due to its elasticity, it won’t shatter.
