Suunto 9 Peak vs Suunto 9 Peak Pro – differences

Let's start with what's inside. The Suunto 9 Peak Pro is powered by a new, upgraded chipset, while the 9 Peak is equipped with the one used in previous models. In practice, this translates into a faster and smoother interface. The digits are larger, the colours are clearer and the contrast is stronger. This ensures excellent readability, faster access to functions and convenient operation.

The efficiency of the battery has also been improved. The Suunto 9 Peak Pro can be used for 40-200 hours of training. It outperforms the runtimes of the 9 Peak, which allows you to work out for 25-170 hours. In daily use, its battery life is up to 21 days (14 days on the 9 Peak). You'll charge your battery for a 2-hour workout in 10 minutes and up to full in an hour. In addition, the Suunto 9 Peak Pro is further upgraded with two additional navigation systems. The model can connect to up to 32 individual satellites at once, significantly increasing the accuracy of the readings.

What about durability? While Suunto 9 Peak watches were tested by the manufacturer, Suunto 9 Peak Pro watches, apart from undergoing testing, are also certified according to US military standards. This means that the model is resistant to high and low temperatures, low pressure, thermal shock, humidity, salt spray, shock, impacts, freezing rain, sunlight, sand and dust.

The Suunto 9 Peak Pro is equipped with two additional sports modes - snorkelling and mermaiding. With a watch on, you can go underwater to a depth of 10 metres without worries. The ongoing climate change was a motivation for the manufacturer to contribute more to ecology. Therefore, the energy required to make the Suunto 9 Peak Pro comes from 100% renewable sources. When it comes to the carbon footprint, the watch creates only 7.5 kg of CO2e during its entire lifespan. This is as much as a fuel-powered car generates over a distance of 44 km.
