The high standard of watches is not just Swiss Made. French manufactory Yema, which has been producing watches since 1948, is building on its experience. It has announced two strong collections, including one that is a reissue of an iconic 1960s diver. For anyone who appreciates French chic, these collections will be the epitome of beauty, precision and standard.
In the watch industry, manufactures with at least half a century of tradition are keen to draw on their heritage, which is well reflected, for example, by the reissues that are appearing, Recently, this has been done by, among others, Yema. The brand has joined the ranks this year, offering the Superman 500 Dato watch , which is based on a diver from the 1960s. Interestingly, this is not the first new edition, but the next one, which is the most perfect version at the moment. Two Yema YSUP23A39-BMS and Yema YSUP23A39-ZMS references will be available.
The YEMA2000 manufacutured calibre is water resistant to 500 metres, which we could see in the Yema Superman 500 Destro YSUP22LHD39-CA62S collection. The upgraded Superman features a modernised watch architecture and technical improvements that position the model as the ultimate French watch for professional divers. It features a protected crown, as well as a double 2.60mm-thick sapphire glass. Taking a cue from the base models, the designers have equipped the watch with a seconds hand ending in a distinctive shape - it is exactly the same as in the Superman models of the 1960s-70s. The watch wearer thus receives a true masterpiece that evolves with the progress of time. The manufacutured movement offers an accuracy of +/- 10 seconds per day. This is a unique collection from French watch enthusiasts, which will be available at Watchard in June/July. Choose from two envelope sizes 39 mm and 41 mm, as well as a variant on a rubber strap or steel bracelet.
The French manufacture has announced yet another novelty, namely the Yema Urban Field collection, whose design is inspired by military watches. The form itself has been modernised, making them suit watches. The movement is powered by Sellita's calibre SW210-1b in Elaboré finish. At this point, only 300 pieces have been produced, but another Yema Urban Field limited edition is planned for August.
