Toothbrush and soap

The most popular way to clean a G-shock watch is to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and soap. Moisten the toothbrush with warm water and rub it against the soap. Then, use the toothbrush to gently remove the dirt from hard-to-reach places on the watch.

We don’t need to worry that something will happen to the watch. This type of treatment won’t harm your watch at all, provided you use a very soft-bristled toothbrush. Alternatively, you may use a shaving brush.

Note: we do not recommend using toothpaste due to the frequent presence of microparticles, which can cause micro scratches on the crystal or case.

Wear your watch in the shower

Showering with your watch on is the simplest way to clean your G-SHOCK watch. In most cases, this is completely sufficient to wash any dirt or dust.

Do you know that every G-SHOCK watch has a water resistance of 200 metres? This means that bathing or showering with your watch on is completely safe.

Wash your G-Shock in a washing machine

This isn't a joke! G-Shock watches can also be washed in the washing machine.

Remember, however, to take protective measures. It’s best to place the watch in a fabric sack or sock to protect it from mechanical damage during the rotation of the washing machine drum.

In addition, as with the washing of clothes, the watch is best washed with clothes of the same or similar colour. And most importantly, the maximum temperature at which a watch can be washed is 40°C.

Water + baking soda or vinegar

If you want to remove the dirt accumulated in the deepest nooks of your watch, it’s good to use vinegar-water solution. Use hot, but not boiling, water. Add 1/3 of the vinegar to the water and immerse the watch in the solution for about an hour. We have to keep in mind, however, that a specific smell of vinegar may be felt for some time.

A solution of lukewarm water and baking soda will work equally well. The mixture prepared in this way will allow you to reach less accessible nooks and crannies. Moreover, thanks to its antibacterial properties, it will naturally disinfect our watch. In this way we can also get rid of all kinds of sediments, e.g. chlorine.
