5/2/26This Protrek is a true workhorse that’s simply unmatched in the field. For me, the biggest advantage is the Tough Solar power system—it completely eliminates the need to replace batteries, which provides immense peace of mind during long mountain trips. The watch is packed with useful sensors, and the barometer and altimeter are highly accurate, allowing you to monitor the weather and your progress on the trail in real time. Despite the case’s substantial size, the material is light enough and well-contoured so that the watch doesn’t get in the way while climbing or carrying a backpack. The clear, dual LCD display works well even in direct sunlight. A solid piece of gear for anyone who prefers a real adventure to sitting on the couch.
