The Yachtigraph Tourbillon Mareographe Automatic is a limited edition Yema watch entirely designed and manufactured in Morteau and the French-Swiss Jura Valley, where the manufacturer's workshops are located. This unique collector's model is available in steel and bronze, each limited to 75 pieces to commemorate Yema's 75th anniversary. This extraordinary creation is powered by a unique hand-wound tourbillon calibre that offers unprecedented performance and complications. It was designed by Olivier Mory, a renowned French watch maker based in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Yema 's workshops are located in Morteau, the cradle of French watchmaking, a few steps away from the Swiss watchmaking region. This cross-border watchmaking community has gradually evolved into a true regional ecosystem recognised as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2020. All the components of the tourbillon mechanism in the Yachtygraf Tourbillon Mareographe 75th Anniversary Limited Edition model, including the envelope, dial and hands, are manufactured in France and Switzerland within a 72-kilometre radius of Morteau by renowned artisans in the watchmaking field. The calibre bridges and main plates are manufactured in Yema's workshops in Morteau, where the final assembly of all components takes place.
The Yema Yachtygraph Tourbillon Mareographe 75th Anniversary Limited Edition model consists, among other things, of a tide complication placed on an elegant subdial located under the 12 o'clock index. To observe this magnificent natural phenomenon, the subdial features a small, tasteful hand indicating the tides by making a gradual half-rotation every 6 hours, 12 minutes and 7.89 seconds (changing from high tide to low tide and vice versa) and a full rotation every 12 hours, 25 minutes and 15.79 seconds. The black dial decorated with a sunray cut is also adorned with an open heart window through which the workings of the mechanism can be seen. The indexes and hands are filled with luminescent Super-LumiNova coating in the dark. The bronze model is numbered 37.33.66.ZN.U6, while the stainless steel version is 37.33.66.SN.U6.
The new Yema timepiece has been designed as intended, as a so-called tool watch that can withstand the harshest conditions. The dial is protected by a double sapphire crystal, and a unidirectional rotating sapphire bezel is placed on the envelope. The model's water resistance rating is 10 ATM, and its watertightness is further enhanced by the screw-down transparent caseback. The high anti-magnetic resistance is created at 2000 Gauss and the shock resistance is 5000G. The unique and precise French Yema 3000 automatic movement that drives the watch to action offers more than 4 days of running reserve, is bearing 19 jewels and consists of 130 components.
This entire unique set of functions is all the more remarkable because usually tourbillon watches are extremely delicate works of art. In this case, we are dealing with one of the rarest tourbillons built for everyday use. The Yema Yachtygraph Tourbillon Mareographe 75th Anniversary Limited Edition is an exceptionally luxurious timepiece that is both rugged and functional, as well as elegant and refined.
