Casio, in collaboration with Polar, has unveiled the new G-Shock DW-H5600 smartwatch in the classic style. It is not, however, a classic G-Shock, but a smartwatch packed with, among other things, GPS, accelerometer and other sensors for monitoring activity during workouts. What other functionalities does it bring to the table?
The Casio G-Shock can be used to adjust exercise load, monitor heart rate, measure blood oxygen levels and step count. Plus, the algorithm can analyse your workouts and sleep health. With the help of Polar technology, the watch offers precise and accurate readings. The backlit screen displays basic information, while the detailed data can be accessed through the phone app, with which the G-Shock connects wirelessly.
The G-Shock DW-H5600, a member of the G-Squad collection, offers a wide range of useful features, e.g. world time (for 38 cities), sunrise and sunset times, a stopwatch (up to 100 hours), a timer (up to 60 minutes) and multiple alarms. In addition, it is shock-resistant and water-resistant up to 20 ATM, making it suitable for snorkelling and freediving. The watch offers hybrid recharging options, allowing you to conveniently recharge it using a USB charger or take advantage of its solar mechanism.
The watches are compact, measuring 51.1 x 44.5mm and weighing just 59g. Casio attributes this smaller size to the implementation of a slim LCD screen and a tiny battery. The key components of the case, bezel and strap are crafted using biomass, which is a bio-based resin. In addition, for the first time, a G-Shock watch uses biomass reinforced with carbon fibre sourced from bio-sourced raw materials. Casio contributes to minimising the ecological footprint. Additionally, the packaging box for the watch utilises recycled materials, further emphasising the company's commitment to sustainability.
