The two sophisticated worlds of watchmaking and art have joined forces through a collaboration between the Timex brand and New York's The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Cult works of art from The Met collection adorn the dials and straps of each of the five new Timex models, showcasing the beauty of both worlds in the form of expressive art to be worn on the wrist. Rich in detail and colour, the collection is a proud testament to the timeless charm of art and the brand's signature design.

  • The Timex brand has partnered with The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
  • The result of this collaboration is 5 new models adorned with iconic works from The Met collection.
  • The line includes 3 Modern Easy Reader® models with analogue dial and 2 refreshed Timex T80 models.
  • Formore information on the watches, visit our blog.

Mäda Primavesi - Klimt

The first model in the new collection is the Timex Modern Easy Reader® x The Met - Mäda Primavesi by Klimt TW2W24900. The indexless analogue dial of this model features a fragment from a 1913 portrait by Austrian painter Gustav Klimt depicting Mäda Primavesi. The dreamy expression here is given a pink and purple background, but the figure itself exudes confidence and poise. The painting continues along the leather strap, which connects to the simple silver envelope that forms a subtle frame for the image on the dial. The dial is covered with mineral glass and the whole is based on the proven quartz movement.

The Actor Nakamura Fukusuke I as Asahina Tōbei - Kunisada

The next watch in the Timex x The Met line is the Timex Modern Easy Reader® x The Met - The Actor Nakamura Fukusuke I as Asahina Tōbei by Kunisada TW2W25000. This time on the analogue dial of the model we find a fragment of a woodcut print created in 1854 by the respected Japanese artist of the Edo period, Utagawa Kunisada. It depicts a kabuki actor as the protagonist of 'Tales from the Riverbanks', one of four classic Chinese novels. The graphic extends to a leather strap connected to a black envelope. The model features mineral glass and is equipped with a quartz movement.

Self-portrait with straw hat - van Gogh

Timex Modern Easy Reader® x The Met - Self-Portrait with a Straw Hat by Van Gogh TW2W25100 is a model in which the index-free dial comes alive with the vibrant colours, energy and post-modern style of one of van Gogh's many self-portraits, this time wearing a straw hat. Bold brushstrokes from the dial protected by mineral glass transfer to the leather strap. The watch features a silvered round envelope and, like previous models, is powered by a quartz movement to operate.

Maples at Mama - Hiroshige

The Timex T80 x The Met - Maples at Mama by Hiroshige is, of course, an update of the much-loved T80 model. The watch is decorated with a motif from a woodcut created around 1857 by Japanese artist Utagawa Hiroshige. The scene is one of the paintings from the 'One Hundred Famous Views of Edo' series portraying the Japanese capital against the backdrop of the changing seasons. The woodcut transferred to the watch shows maple branches surrounding a picturesque Japanese landscape. The graphic also appears on the resin strap, which connects to the silver envelope that houses the digital display. The watch is equipped with functions such as a chronograph, daily alarm, day-of-the-month date and Indiglo backlighting.

The Great Wave - Hokusai

The final model in the series is the Timex T80 x The Met - The Great Wave by Hokusai TW2W25200. It depicts 'Under the Wave off Kanagawa', also known as 'The Great Wave', a woodcut created around 1830 by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. This famous image from Hokusai's beloved '36 Views of Mount Fuji' series depicts a colossal wave surrounding the relatively small Mount Fuji in the background. Like the previous model, the watch is equipped with an electronic display housed in an envelope connected to a resin strap. It also has analogous functions: chronograph, daily alarm, day-of-the-month date and Indiglo backlighting.
