Prague - City of a Hundred Spires

Prague is known as the city of a hundred towers, which offer a unique and one-of-a-kind view of the city skyline. The architecture of Prague is worth admiring not only from a height, but also while wandering through the streets of the city. You will see Romanesque chapels and Gothic cathedrals, as well as the charming Baroque palace gardens. Art Nouveau and Cubist influences are also evident. This architectural eclecticism makes Prague a true gem among European as well as world cities. No wonder, then, that around 7 million foreign tourists pass through the Czech capital every year, for whom more than 20 museums and a hundred galleries are available. One of the must-see sights is the Old Town Hall, which features an astronomical clock constructed in 1410. Visitors have also taken a liking to Charles Bridge, where you can find people taking photos at sunrise as well as sunset.

When in Prague, make sure to go to the left bank of the Vltava River to Petrin Hill, where a defensive wall called the Hunger Wall was built. Some translations suggest that Charles IV commissioned the construction simply to provide work as well as wages for the unemployed. Prague also attracts artists such as the controversial David Černý, whose sculptures can be admired around the TV tower and by the Kafka Museum. If you are looking for street art, take a walk near the French embassy, where there is a painting with an image of John Lennon. Unfortunately, the authorities are painting over this work of art, but the indomitable artists keep painting over another piece every now and then with some additional message.

The latest Bowa Praha watch collection

The Bowa Praha collection consists of ten models. The common denominator of each watch in the series is a steel mesh bracelet. It refers by its structured design to the red tiles that cover the roofs of buildings. We can admire this view from the numerous towers located in the city. Another common point is the elongated indexes, hands and second hand, which refers to the Metronome located in the city centre on Letná Hill. Its red pointed bezel became the inspiration for the Bowa designers. All watches in the Praha series have a round envelope with a diameter of 38 mm and a thickness of 6 mm. Like their predecessors, they operate on the basis of a proven quartz mechanism.

The golden shade of the bracelets and the envelopes of the models PH384-84-18M, PH384-54-184M, PH384-44-18M, PH384-24-18M and PH384-04-18M allude to the Prague astronomical clock and more specifically to the decoration of the individual dials. The beautiful blue dial of model PH385-95-185M reflects the longest Czech river that also flows through the capital, the Vltava, which on sunny days takes on a beautiful and inspiring colour. The luscious green of the PH384-04-184M model reminds us that Prague is not only home to numerous museums, galleries and towers, but also to beautiful green gardens, hills and forests nearby. The watches with references PH387-77-187M and PH387-27-187M have been given the colour pink gold, which is meant to evoke the numerous historical buildings whose façade is kept in this colour. The collection also includes two classic models, reflecting the timelessness and traditions of the city of Prague. The first one with reference PH385-51-185M has a silver bracelet and envelope and a white toned dial, the second watch PH384-84-184M has a golden envelope, bracelet and indexes that contrast nicely with the black dial.
