Junghans - innovative solutions since 1861.
Founded on April 15, 1861 in Schramberg, Germany, the creators of the Junghans brand were Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law, Jakobe Zeller-Tobler. Many years later, in 1903, the company had the largest clock factory in the world, with more than 3,000 employees. In 1927 Junghans began designing watches with mechanical winding. In the 1950s, through hard work and refinement of successive calibers, the company established a partnership with Bauhaus designer Max Bill, culminating in a mechanical wristwatch with a distinctive minimalist design, launched in 1961. At the end of the 1980s, the first radio-controlled table clock was produced, in 1990 the first radio-controlled wristwatch, named MEGA 1, appeared, while five years later the company unveiled an innovative, for its time, solar watch with a ceramic case. To this day, Jungahns remains faithful to the simple, elegant form of its products, combining it with the latest developments in the watchmaking industry.
