The max bill Automatic Bauhaus 027/4009.02 watch is an elegant men's model designed by Swiss designer, architect and sculptor Max Bill, whose designs are reminiscent of the minimalist Junghans watches of the 1930s. Its silver envelope is suspended on a black leather strap. The watch has a white dial and operates on a precise J800.1 automatic movement with a 38 H power reserve.

The founders of the Junghans brand, founded on April 15, 1861 in Schramberg, Germany, were Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law, Jakobe Zeller-Tobler. Many years later, in 1903, the company had the largest watch factory in the world, employing more than 3,000 workers. In 1927, Junghans began designing watches with mechanical winding. In the 1950s, through hard work and the refinement of successive calibers, the company established a partnership with Bauhaus designer Max Bill, culminating in a mechanical wristwatch with a distinctive minimalist design, launched in 1961.At the end of the 1980s, the first radio-controlled table clock was produced, in 1990 the first radio-controlled wristwatch appeared, called the MEGA 1, while five years later the company unveiled a solar watch with a ceramic case that was innovative for its time. To this day, Jungahns remains faithful to the simple, elegant form of its products, combining it with the latest developments in the watchmaking industry.
