History

Glycine was founded in 1914 in the Swiss town of Bienne. The brand name refers to the French term for the noblest vine. In 1930, the owner - Eugen Meylan - created the world's first automatic movement, which revolutionized the manufacture of timepieces in the world. Glycine also became famous for the interesting design of its collections, often modeled on aviation and military motifs.
