The creator of the Daniel Wellington brand is a young Swedish traveler, Filip Tysander, who came up with the idea for the watch company in 2006, during one of his trips. He met on his way an elegant Englishman who was passionate about old timepieces, especially those used by the British Navy in the 1970s. These were watches suspended on NATO straps. When Tysander returned to Sweden, he decided to create his own collection of timepieces, inspired by the retro style he had picked up. So in 2011, the Daniel Wellington brand was born, taking its name from inspiration from the elegant British gentleman.
