Aviator is a Swiss brand that was born out of a passion for aviators and the art of watchmaking. Since 2000, the company has focused on creating precision watches with original retro design and modern equipment. Aviator's collections refer to the rich history of aviation, whose thriving development began with the Wright brothers' first successful flight on December 17, 1903.
Aviator V.3.31.0.228.4 is a tribute to one of the most significant passenger and transport aircraft in the history of aviation - the Douglas, which first took to the air on December 17, 1935. This American aircraft began the period of civilian mass air travel in the 1930s and 1940s.
The Aviator V.3.31.0.228.4 from the Douglas Dakota series showcases traditional watchmaking, military precision and vintage elegance. The brushed and grained dial, the streamlined envelope and the bezel alluding to the attitude indicator, an aviation instrument that determines position relative to the plane of the horizon, were inspired by the Douglas C-47 (Dakota) military aircraft.
The limited edition, which produced the Aviator V.3.31.0.228.4 watch, was released to the world market in a strictly limited edition. Each model is marked with an individual number, which is engraved on the back of the envelope on the caseback.
The Swiss Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement is a reliable solution used by the Aviator brand. It has a 38-hour walk reserve, 26 bearing stones and the Novodiac (Incabloc) anti-shock system. This three-wind watch, is powered by an Etachron regulator. Gait precision is guaranteed by a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Sapphire glass is a very hard material (9/10 points on the Mohs scale), which protects the dial of the Aviator V.3.31.0.228.4 watch from most scratches. This is due to its manufacture from high-quality pure alumina treated at high temperatures. This type of glass also has the advantage of good transparency eliminating 99% of the reflections perceived by the human eye.
The Aviator V.3.31.0.228.4 men's watch features elements with Super-LumiNova luminescent coating applied to them. It allows the time to be read in the dark and underwater. This latest technology, based on strontium aluminate, complies with the European Union REACH regulation and ISO 3157 standards.
With a water resistance of 100 meters, you can safely swim with the Aviator V.3.31.0.228.4 watch on your wrist. There are no worries about it being flooded or damaged during particular water sports.
