3/8/26A Swiss automatic watch at this price was a major selling point for me, and I wasn’t disappointed—you can tell this isn’t some mass-produced item from a supermarket. The guilloché dial makes the biggest impression, because those fine patterns beneath the sapphire crystal play brilliantly with the light and give the whole watch a depth that photos online simply don’t capture. The gold case paired with a brown strap is an absolute classic that goes with any shirt without looking tacky or “cheap.” The Claro 888 movement is simply solid; the hand glides smoothly across the dial, and the watch winds itself from the movement of your wrist, so you can forget about batteries. The strap is soft from the very first time you put it on; you don’t have to “break it in” for weeks to stop it from digging into your wrist.

What impresses me most is the Claro 888 automatic movement—the knowledge that the watch winds itself thanks to the movements of my wrist brings incredible joy and a sense of connection with traditional watchmaking. The whole watch looks incredibly luxurious, mainly thanks to the gold-plated stainless steel case, which, combined with the brown leather strap, creates the perfect ensemble for a suit or shirt.
