Vostok Europe Lunokhod-2 - durable construction, endurance and innovative solutions worthy of space exploration missions
The Lunokhod-2 watch collection is a rugged and durable limited edition model, which with its name and features refers directly to the first unmanned Soviet rover Lunokhod (8E³) created. The vehicle, developed by the USSR, was designed to conduct space exploration on the surface of the Moon. Four such vehicles were built as part of the Lunokhod program, only two of which landed on an Earth satellite - Lunokhod 1 (on Lunokhod 17, 10/11/1970) and Lunokhod 2 (on Lunokhod 21, 08/01/1973).
The Vostok Europe Lunokhod-2 series resulted in the release of one-of-a-kind original watches adapted for extreme water sports and professional diving. The company has perfectly combined interesting and modern design with practical functions and the best premium materials (such as stainless steel, genuine leather or durable K1 hardened glass. On the equipment of these watches you can find, among others: accurate pointer chronographs, helium valves, screw-down crowns and lugs, rotating bezels, or innovative and long-lasting tritium backlighting GTLS (Gaseous Tritium Light Sources). Powerful Japanese automatic and quartz mechanisms are responsible for accurate and precise timekeeping.
History
Vostok Europe is the brainchild of two other companies - Lithuania's Vilnius Koliz and Russia's Chrystopol Watch. It was founded in 2003 and already a year later promoted itself at the Baselworld Fair. It instantly gained popularity as a brand producing timepieces that are incredibly rugged and waterproof, ideal as gear for any, even extreme conditions - Vostok watches have already been to the Arctic Circle, Kruber's Cave, the world's deepest cave, and even in space. This has secured Vostok's place among some of the finest, most durable timepieces in the world.

H3 technology - modern backlighting
The H3 technology is an innovative tritium backlight from Swiss company Mb-Microtect. It works 100 times stronger than ordinary luminescent coating and shines for up to 25 years. The H3 designation is the chemical formula of tritium - the luminous brightness lasts for 10 years. After 12 years, the strength drops by 50%, and only after 24 years to 25% of the initial brightness. The advantage is that tritium tubes do not require servicing and, most importantly, recharging.
K1 glass - a new quality
The use of hardened K1 glass in Vostok Europe watches provides much better protection against scratches and dings than popular mineral glass. This type of protection maintains high resistance, thanks to the use of an innovative production method. The K1 glass is made from an extremely flexible synthetic material. Any stronger impacts do not cause damage, but deformation. The hardness of K1 glass is 7 points on the 10-point Mohs scale. In addition, the K1 glass is coated with anti-reflective coating, which will make it easier to read the time in bright sunlight.
Lunokhod-2 watch mechanism
The quartz mechanism of the Vostok Europe watch is characterized by extreme precision in timekeeping and reliability. The Lunokhod-2 collection uses a highly accurate YM86 caliber mechanism from the renowned Japanese company Seiko Epson. The watch derives its power from a battery, which only needs to be replaced after a long period of time when it becomes discharged. This type of mechanism requires no additional intervention and guarantees comfortable use.
Dry Box
The Lunokhod-2 Chrono Limited Edition YM86/620A505 is packed in an original Vostok Europe box - a special Dry Box. It is waterproof and additionally resistant to shocks and falls from great heights. In addition, it will prove useful as a place to store not only the watch itself, but also the necessary accessories for diving and swimming.

1/4/24Just arrived :) Beautiful, dreamlike and already on my wrist :) Big? Yes. Heavy? Yes, but that's what it was meant to be! The photos don't even partially convey its chrome brilliance, how luxurious it looks when you wear it. The yellow color in real life is subdued and super impressive. Clocking, as usual, for "six" :)
