I personally prioritized maximum versatility when choosing it, and I’m certain my decision was absolutely the right one, because with the light-colored dial paired with a silver metal case, every strap will look great—from NATO straps to a metal bracelet. 
I thought the Indiglo backlight would be an unnecessary gimmick, but now I can’t get enough of it. It’s AMAZING—it’s definitely the best feature of this model—and it makes it easy to use the watch even in the pitch dark.
The watch is relatively lightweight, but it doesn’t feel cheap; on the contrary, it’s beautifully crafted. The 40mm size and light weight mean you won’t feel any discomfort from wearing it for long periods, because once you put it on your wrist, it certainly won’t end up on a shelf anytime soon.
Jokingly, one could say that the only downside is the battery in this quartz Timex.
The store’s customer service also deserves praise; shipping took place a few hours after the transfer was processed, and I was able to enjoy my new purchase the very next day.

I was guided by the greatest versatility when choosing it and I am sure that my decision was the right one, because with a bright dial combined with a silver metal case, each strap will look great, starting with NATO, ending with the bracelet. I thought that the Indiglo backlight would be an unnecessary gadget, and now it's hard for me to break away from it. It is AMAZING, it is by far the biggest gadget of this model, but it makes the watch easy to use in the darkest of darkness. The watch is relatively light, but it does not seem cheap, on the contrary, it is well made. The size of 40 mm and low weight mean that we will not feel any discomfort caused by wearing the watch for a long time, because when we put it on the wrist, it will not land quickly on the shelf. It can be jokingly said that the only drawback is the one on the Timex quartz battery. The store service deserves recognition, the shipment took place a few hours after the transfer was posted, and the next day I was able to enjoy my new purchase.

When I was looking for an old-school hiking watch, the Timex Weekender was love at first sight.

Before I saw it, I tried a few other—now trendy, all-purpose watches—but their 50 mm diameter on my skinny wrist looked like a saucer stuck to my wrist. The 40 mm diameter from Timex was exactly what I needed.

The moment I saw it, there was only one decision left to make—which color variant to choose. I went with light brown, which I think is the most visually appealing—but thanks to the easily interchangeable straps, that might still change. The straps are easy to swap out because they don’t require any watchmaker’s tools—at the bottom of the strap, next to the crown, there’s a small lever that lets you detach it in literally a second.

A big plus is the Indiglo—very bright backlighting across the entire watch face. A downside is setting the date—you have to set it by actually moving the hour hand, which jumps forward one hour with every rotation. So, adjusting the date by one day requires 24 turns of the crown. It’s a bit of a hassle, but you only set the date once every two months, so it’s not a huge problem.

One thing you can’t see in the photos is that the large second hand is actually a stopwatch hand. During normal operation, it remains stationary. The actual second hand is located on the small sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position.

This watch deserves 5 stars from me—in my opinion, it looks much more expensive than it actually is. It’s been to the mountains, it’s been to work, we’ll see where else I take it...
