3/25/26I was looking for something that didn't look like a plastic toy, and the G-Steel series is a perfect fit — the steel case and bracelet in deep black give it a character that even goes well with a suit jacket, yet it’s still an indestructible tough guy. The biggest convenience is the solar power; the panels on the dial take care of the battery, so I don’t have to worry about replacing it for years. Bluetooth connectivity isn’t just a gimmick—it’s a super convenient feature, because the time syncs automatically with my phone, and I don’t have to dig through the manual to change settings. Even though the watch is sturdy, thanks to its slimmer case (only 13 mm!), it doesn’t catch on every sleeve and sits perfectly on the wrist. The Super Illuminator backlight works even in total darkness, and the shock-resistant system means I don’t have to take it off for any kind of work. If you want a rugged Casio but in an elegant, metal version, this model beats all standard rubber-banded models hands down.
