The CIGA Design U Series Blue Planet Atlantic U039-SU01-W6U is an automatic men's watch from the Blue Planet collection, whose movement design was honored with the 2021 Challenge Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG). The three-dimensional dial was made using precision CNC machining and depicts a section of the Atlantic Ocean and the continents that together form its basin. The model uses Asynchronous-follow technology, in which a static hour scale works with a dynamic minute indicator placed on the same plane. The modified gear ratio of the mechanism means that the hour indicator moves in a 30° arc, while the minute element rotates 390°, allowing the time to be read from a single reference point. The silver-colored 316L stainless steel case is paired with a blue silicone strap, and the dial is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Water resistance of 3 ATM means resistance to minor splashes in everyday use.
