The history of the Carl von Ze yten brand begins in the town of Freudenstadt in the Black Forest - a place that attracted romantics from all over Europe, inspired by the Brothers Grimm, among others. It was also here that Hermann C. Krieg (1861 - 1928), whose passion was creating, repairing and improving watches, opened his watchmaking shop. While traveling in Switzerland and England, Krieg searched for a way to ensure that time was measured continuously and as precisely as possible. And he found it! He discovered the existence of specific, specific materials, which he used to make the springs and balance wheels.
