Leather, rubber, fabric, carbon fiber... There are at least several types of bands that keep a watch on a wrist. We have prepared a list of bands most commonly chosen by users. Keep reading to find which type of band will be most suitable for you!

Watch band as an important part of the outfit

A band is one of the most important elements of a watch. This is an element of a watch that keeps the body of the device on your wrist so you can read the time whenever you need it. It is also very often one of the most important elements that make up the overall appearance of a model. Depending on the material the band is made of, its colour or texture, different bands will be suitable for different outfits. In other words, not every type of a watch band will go well with every outfit.

How to choose a watch band?

Since each outfit is governed by its own rules, it's worth considering what type of band to choose. Watch manufacturers offer us some popular options.

Fabric band

More and more popular among watch owners becomes the fabric band. It is worth knowing that such bands are most often made of cotton or nylon. They can be also sackcloth straps, which are made of natural fibres or their imitation. Material bands are very often more durable and resistant to damage than leather straps. Among them you can also find water-resistant models. Water resistance is a practical feature not only in case of contact with water, e.g. when washing hands, but also on warm days since water-resistant watches do not absorb sweat. They are also quite easy to clean. It should be noticed, however, that fabric bands are mainly propositions for less formal styling.

Leather strap

Authentic leather is one of the most classic materials used to make watch bands. Leather straps are very often used in elegant models and they actually suit best with such models since they create a sensational whole together with stainless steel cases and chicly designed dials. You will be able to boast on every more official occasion wearing such a watch that perfectly matches, for example, a suit. Leather straps, however, are less resistant to moisture, which causes them to deteriorate faster and after some time of use it will be necessary to replace the strap with a new one.

Rubber band

The rubber watch band e.g. a silicone one is an excellent component for sports models. Such bands are very durable, lightweight and easy to clean. Their quality is not affected by moisture. They can have pastel and bright colours, contrary to other materials. Thanks to their high durability, they should serve for a long time. Also, their low weight will be a plus during training. An interesting type of rubber band is a band made of carbon fiber, a water-resistant and not stretching material, which will be also suitable for less obliging styling.

Bracelet instead of a band

A band is obviously not the only type to keep a watch on your wrist. Equally popular are bracelets, which in most cases are made from the highest quality stainless steel. Their most important value is that they are durable and resistant to damage.

Watch bracelet

What is extremely important, however, is that the steel used to make the bracelets (and very often also the cases) is hypoallergenic. Therefore, it should not cause your skin to have negative reactions. Well-made bracelets are comfortable as bands to the same extent. It should be taken into account that the bracelet may lose its shine over time, which can be remedied by polishing.
