The Certina Urban DS-1 C029.807.11.051.00 is an elegant and luxurious men's watch for gentlemen who like to combine retro style with modern solutions. Both the bracelet and the round envelope are made of high-quality 316L stainless steel. The contrast is provided by a black convex dial, which is complemented by silver markers, and protected by a hard sapphire glass with anti-reflection. On the surface of the dial there is a date-stamp for the days of the month. Accurate operation of the whole is ensured by the Powermatic 80.111 automatic movement, which has a power reserve of up to 80 hours. It is equipped with the DS double security system. Its work can be admired through the transparent caseback. 100 meters of water resistance protects the inside of the case during surface swimming. The product C0298071105100 comes with a 2-year warranty.
Functions
Steel
The 316L stainless steel, which Certina uses for cases, bracelets and clasps for instance, is extremely resistant, corrosion-resistant and hygienic. It contains only a very small proportion of nickel, which is not emitted when worn and therefore does not trigger any nickel allergies.
Sapphire
Sapphire watch crystal is made of aluminium oxide powder (Al2O3) heated to over 2000°C. The resultant sapphire nugget is cut with great precision into fine slices, trimmed and polished. Sapphire is extremely scratch-resistant, shock-resistant and is very transparent. This is why sapphire crystal is an essential element in the DS Concept.
DS
Since 1959, the DS Concept has reflected Certina's uncompromising standards. The secret behind this "Double Security" (DS) lies in a robust design which, with its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, sophisticated sealing system that includes the stem and crown, and reinforced watch back, covers every aspect of the watch case. Thanks to the DS Concept, every single one of Certina's timepieces boasts outstanding resistance – a quality that their owners can always rely on.
Anti-reflective coating
It is possible to enhance the quality of a sapphire crystal to an even greater extent by providing it with an anti-reflective coating on one or both sides. The Certina brand is becoming increasingly focussed on equipping its timepieces with an extremely high-quality anti-reflective coating on both sides, whereby several layers of this coating on both sides of the crystal ensure that it is possible to see through the timepieces in an optimum manner.
80 h power reserve
The power reserve provides you with information about how long a mechanical timepiece can run for without being wound. Most timepieces have a power reserve of around 38 to 42 hours. Certina's innovative Powermatic 80 automatic calibre offers a power reserve of up to 80 hours – almost double as long as comparable models.
10 BAR (100 M)
This information about the water resistance states the specified overpressure and diving depth to which a watch can be subjected and still remain in working order. As a general rule, we do not recommend wearing watches that are water-resistant to less than 10 bar (100 m) when swimming or diving. All Certina timepieces can withstand a pressure of at least 10 bar (100 m) stand – some of our watches can even withstand considerably higher pressures!

DS Concept System
Thanks to the DS Concept technology comprising 5 solutions (o-ring seals on the shaft, crown, caseback, sapphire glass and reinforced caseback, the Certina C029.807.11.051.00 watch is resistant to extreme weather and also pressure conditions. The system makes the device shock-resistant.
Super-LumiNova®
The Certina C029.807.11.051.00 watch uses Super-LumiNova technology, which is a high-tech luminescent coating that uses strontium aluminate. It is applied to the indexes, hands and elements of the scope ring. Thanks to exposure to any light source, reading the time is possible even deep underwater.
Water resistance
