The brand, whose production benefited from the experience of specialized workers, began to grow rapidly. Alpina watches gained inter-country fame. New factories began to open in Germany and Europe (including Bienne, Glashutte). In the 1970s, Alpina was taken over by a German investor who broke away from the Swiss tradition. The name was then changed to Alpina Watch International SA. At the turn of the 20th century, the forgotten heritage began to be revisited and the spirit and idea of the "Alpinists" was reactivated.
